Where did we leave off, let’s see… We were discussing what interest could a seasoned gamer find in the super fashionable addition of skins, assets and custom items to his favorite RPGs.

Never heard of personalization?

Believe us, it’s not a feature to be taken lightly. If you are familiar with videogames or game-apps where your character is the center of attention, personalizing it is what will truly make it feel your own. And the more options you have, the more satisfying it is.

Do you really think that in this case the look and the items worn aren’t a fundamental part of the game?

Wrooong!

Let’s consider the cornerstone of character personalization in the gaming world: The Sims. Version after version, the life simulator has drastically developed its Sims, thanks to technological advances too, of course. The true step forward came with The Sims 3 and The Sims 4: body shapes, millimeter-precise facial features, lots of skin tones, and so on.

And guess who joined The Sims 4 with an exclusive stuff pack a little over a year ago? Moschino. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, it was only a matter of time. In fact, a recent game patch added a wide MAC make-up selection, and rumors have it that this won’t be all.

Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to have his favorite brands in a life simulator? It’s a dream come true.

Apart from this clear example, like the aforementioned Louis Vuitton x LoL or Valentino on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, we realize without doubt the extent to which personalization is based in RPGs. From Arthur Morgan’s choice of looks in Red Dead Redemption 2, to the personalized accessories on Call of Duty or Rainbow Six Siege, no genre shies away from personalization.

So what are the advantages for a gamer? We mentioned one already in one of the previous articles (here): being more aware of your own image, in the case of a live streamer, and acquire popularity amongst followers.

And in every other case, to enjoy a 360° personalization of one’s game settings and character, with the chance to use items created by one’s favorite brands.

Now that virtual reality is not a foreign concept in our life, but rather an integral part of it, following us wherever we can get a WiFi connection, every aspect of our daily life is connected to others. And so being trendy becomes important even when playing, a new way to express oneself even virtually.

We think it is a very fun way to do it.

But we are biased.
